Movies have been depicting the occurrence of a cyber war in the future that will cause large scale damages which will change the way how humans look at modern technology forever. These wars according to two high profile British researchers will not happen. The report was released by the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development as part of cyber security threat predictions for the future.
According to these researchers, a cyber war on the global scale is unlikely to happen anytime soon. No war of cyber origins will not be fought between two countries. The two researchers from United Kingdom gave more weight to attack which originate to steal personal data like bank accounts and personal details that can be used to steal money. The report also mentioned that these attacks will largely be based on isolated incidents of espionage that will give birth to all future conflicts. The argument laid out by the researchers also lays out the fact that all known computer exploits have been patched,, which makes the work of hackers in the modern times much harder. The presence of important information in computer networks will make the prediction of an attack difficult since every bank runs on the internet. The attacks will not be as large as the worse fears of security experts, but they will still have a lot of problems and lead to extensive outcomes. Attackers are also getting great multi-taskers and will begin using weapons that will attack using multiple fonts. The number of viruses and Trojans will keep increasing that will make the computers that are unprotected more vulnerable. The only forms of online attacks that combine many users together is the DDoS attacks. These attacks will get more extreme with the combination of botnet DDOS attacks which will be only harmful to a few computers.
